Yakuza graphical error in opening
#1
The first in-game segment of Yakuza (the cutscene with the dead body and the ring) has me experiencing an odd visual quirk that I'm clueless as to how to fix. Whenever the lightning strikes, the screen is briefly offset and two crossed lines appear over the screen.

What steps can I take to get this fixed?

Thanks in advance!

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.
  • Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
  • The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  • Any non default settings you are using.
  • What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

Thank You.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Please make sure to enclose your emulog in code tags like so (remove the empty space on the closing code tag!):

Play at the PS2's native resolution.

You can also try changing the graphics plugin or changing the texture filtering, but besides playing at 1x I don't think it goes away.

If this is a FMV, there is a switch to software renderer when a FMV plays option. Since software renderers always run at native that'll solve the line problem, and it should swap back to hardware when gameplay begins again.

And unfortunately it is not an FMV - it is the first cutscene rendered in-game.

EDIT: Oh, also I'm using an ISO.

Unrelated, but why have you done that with the EE slider? Did you not read the red text underneath it? You are just making things harder on your computer for no gain. There's absolutely no point in doing that with this game.

It had some effect on another game I was trying out in the past (I forget which one) and I guess I just forgot to set it back to normal.  Blush

Update:
Messing with the settings, I managed to fix this by turning off Half-Pixel Offset. Now according to the wiki this causes ghosting, but I thought it'd be constructive to let others know how I fixed this particular issue.

Edit:
To be even constructive, I'm going to post pictures for how half-pixel offset affects this issue.

Normal (Vertex):
A sort of "window" effect, with perpendicular lines surrounded by a border around the image.

Special (Texture):
A single, less distinct line down the middle.

Special (Texture - Aggressive)
Almost identical to the Special (Texture) one, though the line could be a bit more distinct.

Incidentally, the wiki refers to a "semi-transparent line in the middle of the screen" and suggests changing the texture filtering to fix it. However, I found that it had no effect in this case.
