Zone of the Enders 2nd Runner - again, sorry
#1
I've read a lot of posts regarding Zone of the Enders 2n Runner and tried several combinations of plugins with the latest beta.

I wonder if someone could point me towards a suitable config, since it plays rather slowly on my pc during battles (30~35 FPS), and I don't think it should considering my specs:

Windows7 64bit
Intel Core i7 920 2.67Ghz
RAM 6GB DDR3
ATI EAH5970 2GB GDDR5

Cleared other games using pcsx2 0.9.7 but this one doesn't seem to like me.
Could anyone help me increase the speed with this game?

AFAIK, ZOE2 requires quite a good CPU. Yours is considered average for pcsx2.

some speedhacks & setting clamp mode to none may help you, though...
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

I see...

Guess i'll have to wait a bit to play it fullspeed.

Thank you anyway

Well you can try overclocking it for more performance.

sorry for getting a bit off-topic, but any ideas how much further could a good overclocking lead the CPU to? 3ghz or more?

You could try enabling "allow 8-bit textures" in GSdx graphic plugin and maybe use frameskip (shift+f4 while playing) and it could help a bit for speed.

3.2Ghz+ is recommended for most games but for this game you might want higher than 3.5Ghz.

And I just recently upgraded my computer... I'll give overclocking a try then, plus all the tips mentioned above, since without overclocking the battle speed decreased to 15 FPS using speedhacks, etc. Hopefully it will make the game fast enough to enjoy.
Would consider even buying a PS2 if PCSX2 didn't have that sweet amount of extras.

You need to own a PS2 already to run PCSX2 legally...

Would a PS2 broken beyond repair count?

If you made the BIOS dump before it broke, sure... I guess.
