choppy sound and some lag

Hi i am new to pcsx2 so im just wondering if my pc is good enough to run the games at playable speeds.

PCU: core 2 quad 2.4ghz
GPU: nvidia 9800GT
RAM: 2gb
Running windows 7

I'm using v9.7 beta, i have tried playing DefJam Fight for NY and i have got it running at a playable but slightly annoying speed using some of the speedhacks. I'm just curious whether that's as fast as its going to go or if theres ways to improve it further. Thanks

The only thing thats keeping you down is your cpu its ok for many of the easier to emulate games. But overall its not very good for pcsx2, the rest of your pc is good though. If you know how to and can a simple OC would solve your problem.
Other than that try diffrent configurations of the speedhacks, some are better than others for diffrent games. I dont have the game so I cant offer any specific setups that work great for this game.

Ok i have noticed now that different speedhacks are more effective on different games so that was helpful. I am goin to buy a new CPU cooler and try overclocking to get better performance because i have noticed the temp getting very high with games running. Thanks for the help
