about the compatibility list, about the version indicated behind the games, what does it mean? is it the best version to use for the game? or this version and higher?

Last version the game was tested with.

If a game was working in PCSX2 0.9.4 but was last tested with 0.9.8 and it isn't working in that (current stable) then the status shown is referring to that last test only.
