First off...if you're using Windows XP, you can forget about it.

Only Vista and Windows 7 can have DX10.

Dont use the lame hack of directx.10 or you become much trouble with pcsx2 emulation. Install and use directx from recomanded website.

There are no problems related to DX10 hack and PCSX2, the latter just plainly doesn't start in "DX10 mode under XP" and keeps working normally under DX9.
