emulator pausing pcsx2

hey guys,  everytime I press the circle button, the game (all of them) pause. when I press start it opens a pcsx2 menu instead of the game menu etc. its like everything is attached to the emulator settings and not the game itself. Does anyone know how to remove this feature? This never happened to me until today and I'm using this emulator for like a week

ok it was actually steam big picture mode that was bugging my pcsx2 xd
