one thing that worked for me was http://www.turtlewax.com/detail-Carnauba...42-46.aspx
i bought it for the truck and used it on a really bad disk (using a VERY soft cotton shirt to buff it gently), it's worked on just about every disk i have+^_^+ I've tried cheaper stuff but some polishes and waxes contain oils that don't help much+^_^+

my R&C disk isnt really that badly scratched so that my disk could not entirely load on my ps2 (when it used to work properly... unfortunately..).. my ps2 could read the game to a certain point like when in the menus... but when I try to load the event.. I see Ratchets space ship flying endlessly.. (the space ship is a sign that the game loads...) im really looking for a cheap way to do this.. (tmrw I will be trying to google a solution to fix it with everyday home products or such..)

uhh... guys? I checked today my HDD and I saw the RIPPED R&C3 iso.. I said "meh! what im I gonna to lose?" and I tried playing it on emu... but surprisingly.. it did really started to show the ingame screens.. you know what I mean right?? weird... (but still havent tested it yet to see how the speed goes...)

EDIT: Nah!! speed is AWFUL!! and there were graphic glitches and bugs EVERYWHERE!! anyway... good think I didnt have to buy a new disk...
