gt4 VIF FIFO READ error

Hi all, long time user here. I recently backed up my own copy of gt4 and have been enjoying pcsx2 to relive one of my all time favorites gt4. However I seem to be hitting a wall here receiving the following error. 
FQC = 0 on VIF FIFO READ!

I've done some googling and from the few examples I've seen, posters are generally told to remake the iso. I've tried playing around with all the graphical settings I can think of, as well as recreating the iso multiple times (even as slow as 1x) and using both imgburn and ultraiso and each time the game will crash with that error at the same point. During the loading of the ia license test.

This error specifically is on the 1.6 stable version however it also occurs on the nightly build as well and I just can't figure out if there's anything else that can be done. Which is why I turn to someone with more knowledge than myself. Can anything be done to avoid this elusive error?

Well not 30 seconds later I was looking over the log and I noticed it said this, " Thread: EE Core". That prompted me to look in the EE/IOP settings and I changed it from Re-compiler to Interpreter to get past the load screen that would constantly crash.

It was able to successfully load the license test, which I promptly reverted back to Interpreter to get back up running full speed. I might have found a successful workaround but I would love to hear if there is a better 'fix' than manually going back and forth between the two.

Have you also tried to change EE Clamping Mode to Normal? Because this game needs the default EE Clamping Mode (or EE Clamping Mode Extra + Preserve Sign) during the license tests instead of EE Clamping Mode Full or EE Clamping Mode None. Smile

Oo I didn't know that. If I leave EE Clamping mode to default the game doesn't display the time in game between you and the opponent split times. Or even Clamping Mode Extra + Preserve Sign doesn't seem to work right. EE
I wish I knew what half this stuff means. The nightly build doesn't do as good of a job with its little tooltips as it says to hover over things but 1/2 the time no actual details pop up.
