i was using the lilypad plugin but, then i read that one is not used for plugin controls. i switched over the to ssspx but that one doesn't even let me map, while lilypad did.

well you read wrong , it's the most compatible pad plugin
what settings do you have for it?

you have to click on pad1 and pad2 under the "pads" section and just uncheck the option for each
