This is usually sign of overheating -- you CPU clocks going down under high load. Check CPU cooler, maybe it brocken?

It maybe "CPU cool 'n' quiet" enabled in the BIOS, perhaps.

I would say you are GPU limited, although those X2 CPUs were never that great anyway, my old 5000+ never came close to my last CPU the E5200.
If you have any spare cash, get rid of the 8500GT and get a 9600GSO (nice and cheap if you can find them), a 9600GT, or better still a 9800GT.
All 3 cards are cheap now, and give much better performance than your 8500, and should give you a nice boost in Pcsx2.
The lastest Pcsx2 betas are also a good way to start, r1732 onwards is best, as well as a few hacks, but not too many or you'll actually slow down the emulator.

hmm i was thinking about that,I'm thinking between 1gb 9800gt or 512mb gts250 ( almost same price range ), what is good between this two?

thus gts250 work well on the pcsx2 emulator too?

sorry i dont know much about pc Sad

@rex1825
I'm running suikoden V and valkyrie profile 2, suikoden seem playable but i jsut dont feel like playing in 50% speed specially in story dialogue it takes too long lol

The GTS250 is nothing more than a 9800GTX+, or rather a slightly better 9800GT. If the 1Gb 9800GT is cheaper where you are, get that one. You can clock it near-ish to 9800GTX speeds, and you also have the extra 512Mb which may help if you plan on gaming around 1440x900 with AA and high textures.
A GTX260 would be even better, but more expensive. In the UK, you would be looking around £78 inc VAT for a 1Gb 9800GT, and £118 inc VAT for a 260, but it all comes down to cost and you'll do ok with a 9800GT.
