my pc specs are :
i7 4790 3.60 ghz
8 gigs of ram
using windows 10 64 bit
AMD radeon r9 390 series

the current version of pcsx2 i am using is 1.4.0(latest stable release)

the only option i change in default settings is going from hardware mode to software mode because hardware does not run and software is slow

the game i am trying to run is monster lab and i am running it from an iso

There has been a lot of work done on the Git (development) builds in the hardware rendering in particular
http://pcsx2.net/download/development/git.html

Try one of the newer builds and see if it
1.) works in hardware mode at all (recommended is OpenGL since the DirectX HW is not as accurate and prone to more issues).
2.) to see if the general performance is better in software mode since it is a bit faster overall.

You can run a git build along side your normal installation since the git builds use the portable.ini to make them save in folder.

Also if you could save and post a copy of your console log when it crashes in HW mode if it still crashes in the newer builds.

Just don't use OpenGL on amd cards and you'll be fine. (70% slower than DX).
