I found most of the graphics glitches are fixes by gsdx software mode, don't remember getting any sound glitches though.

Yeah, but the software mode is very slow :/
anyway, the sound is totally absent

try boot (full) instead of boot (fast), for whatever reason the game tries to play a language it doesn't have when fast booting.
