when i try to play kingdom hearts on my windows 8.1 laptop, the cut sceans slow down my game by alot

how can i fix this problem

Please post your specs. You mean the first cutscene, right? Your laptop is probably not powerful enough.

Try software mode and set the extra rendering threads to 3. If it runs at full speed, that means the Intel HD Graphics 4000 isn't good enough.

It depends on the model, but a decent dedicated GPU will probably solve this problem. Anyway, you should try software mode first to confirm if the GPU is the problem.

i just tried it on software mode at 3 threads and it runs at full speed fine now

so what could be causing the slowdowns then

This confirms that the Intel HD Graphics 4000 doesn't cut it. If you want to play this game at full speed all the time, you have to use a dedicated GPU.
