wasn't there even a way to set the horizontal width value in one of the previous versions i remember that it was preset to 90

in one of the last nightly versions, probably 2 weeks ago, in the graphics settings there was an option to adjust the horizontal width so that the screen does not look so dilated at 16:9. the default setting was 90. seems to have been removed
