One other thing you can try is using the latest SVN. It's pretty much the beta of 0.9.7. It gave me a huge speed boost - on 0.9.6 and beta 1888 I could only get about 45 fps on god of war, and with this svn I get between 55 and 60 fps constantly, which is pretty much perfect. This link has the download as well as the newest plugins. Be aware that there isn't any support offered for these versions on these forums.
