If you are using pcsx2 for the first time, then formatting is as simple as doing an internal save. The formatting will be done automatically.
OS: Linux Mint 17.2 64 bit (occasional Antergos/Arch user)
(I am no longer a Windows user)
CPU: Intel Pentium G3258
GPU: Nvidia GTX 650 Ti

Alternately, if for some reason your game isn't doing it automatically you can load bios and do it from within the bios menu.

To do this select No disc in CDVD tab.then boot cdvd full or fast.
select browser-select Memory card 1 or 2 & Format them !!
