I guess he means the log from the console that starts when you run something. If it doesn't show up for you check it in the Misc->Show Console. This is the best way to diagnose the problem.

Try updating your DirectX first http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en

that pops up and is fine. it just dosent go past the white Playstation. like theres no disc in.

Did you update directx?

Here, I tried out MGS 2 Substance on PCSX2 0.9.7.2400 with standard settings. Works like a charm although there's a shadow problem but it can be only fixed with the DirectX Software mode.

   

my spec:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2,66 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 2600XT - 256mb DDR3 RAM
2 GB DDR 2 RAM

Same question here. I finished regular MGS2 on PCSX2 ,but Substance version is giving me black screen no matter what I do.
CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K 3.8 GHz (Turbo 5.1 GHz)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB)
RAM: Corsair 32GB KIT DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Vengeance LPX
MOBO: Asus TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Some people on the Forums seem to know how to get past the Black screen but they will never tell us the secret. Sad
