normal xbox 360 controller on pcsx2 ?
#1
hello
i have pcsx2 0.9.8 with lilypad 0.10.0 all working perfect on windows 7 64 bit

i have an original xbox 360 controller with the plug and play usb wire
i attached it to my laptop and installed the "xbox 360 wireless controller via play and charge kit 1.2" driver by microsoft

ive been trying to get pcsx2 to recognise it but its all a failure

so i installed xbcd 0.2.7
it came with XInput 1, 2, and 3 . dll all in my system32 folder
i tried to "update" the driver
by right clicking the driver in device manager which is called
"microsoft common controller for windows class"
then i
"Install from list or specific location..."
etc
when i select "i will choose my own"
"xbcd gamepad" certificate never shows up

even when i tried "Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b"

XBCD never shows up on the list when i try to update to it

but its installed fine using "run as admin" on my laptop
so XBCD is on my programs lists and in the progam files(x86) folder

even when i uncheck the compatibilty list

the setup utility loads fine and the 360ec emulator that comes with it loads but the xbox pad is never recognised.

i tried that other one motioninjoy but that was a failure

i am really stumped i tried all the solutions availale on the web

im usually quite "smart" with this kind of stuff but this is a puzzler

ive read many other users on windows 7 64bit having never ecountered problems at all and it works just fine for them

im guessing a screenshot of their config looks like this:

My config never shows that "XInput Pad 0"
thats what i need right ?

i am wondering if anyone can help

thank you for your time

note: as last resort i tried using older vesion of pcsx2 and lilypad, still the same dilema

Is this a natively wireless controller connected via a pnp charging cable?

If so, that doesn't work right, if at all (IIRC).

If the controller is natively wired (built-in), then you seem to be using the wrong driver...

no its not built in
its the normal wireless pad you get when you buy a xbox 360

the wire i bought is the standard plug and charge usb wire for xbox 360 pads

Doesn't it say [Detached] under "Device Diagnostics" (Lilypad)?

Look at the ring of lights on your controller;
Are any on?

If they are;
Is it just one solid light in the "1st player" position (top-left)?

If not;
The controller is just charging. They will just sit there blinking if you turn it on...

I'm pretty sure that cable merely charges with a PC. It has never done anything different for me, and I do have the proper drivers.

yeh the light is on but its just flashing in all 4 corners constantly
its never stayed on one solid light

on device diagnotics its only showing the WM Keyboard

If you had the actual controller driver installed, it would probably show in there (as it does on my end), but it's still considered "detached". No input comes through that pnp cable.

You'll need one of the wireless recievers to use a wireless 360 controller on PC, or a natively wired controller.
