pcsx 2 on macbook pro mid 2012
#1
Hi!
I'm new to pcsx 2, just downloaded version 1.7.0 and trying to make it work.

I'm running it on a 15-inch mid 2012 macbook pro with High Sierra, here are the specs:
CPU: 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7
RAM: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
GPU: NVIDIA GeFOrce GT 650M 512 MB.

I. want to play Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, but is really impossible.
Frame rate drops to the point that the game freezes, especially in parts with heavy rendering, like for example the beginning of the tank mission in MGS2 (apparently rain seems to cause this problem).

pre rendered sections seems to work  fine, but as soon as the the actual gaming part starts the problem appears.
I noticed a big improvement when switching the rendering to settings to Software instead of OpenGL, framerate goes up to 80%, but is still really annoying.

I know that I have a very old computer and the GPU wan not the best even in 2012, but this is what I have for now!

Please help me!
Thank you

Nothing to do apart from playing it on your PS2. Sorry
MGS series are notoriously heavy on both CPU and GPU
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go
