pcsx2 on a laptop
#1
OK, my laptop seems to be bare minimum specs but it actually runs ffx-2 at just over 100% when using hw mode and no frame limiter (115% give or take)

any other games that are approximately that hard on systems out there?  Pretty sure my ff xII will put a hurting on the system.  How bout .hack?  any others yall know of?  Yeah, you can see the pattern for genre preference...

Now, I know my laptop is underpowered based on the recommendations...  I have a stp of about 1315, integrated graphics (1st gen i7 mobile chip at 2.66hz, 3.3 turbo).  8gb ram, ssd drive.  I have found that I get about a 10 fps difference between the ssd and running the physical disk.. (maybe more.. physical disk runs at 55 frames give or take, the iso off of ssd runs at over 60 constant)

I'm very surprised you're running FFX-2 at full speed on an STP of 1315. You must be using some speedhacks?

Anyway, most RPGs are around the 1600 STP range as far as requirements. A few are lighter, a few are heavier. What exactly are you asking for? RPGs that are similar in requirements to FFX-2? Well, most of them lol.

Blyss, you ain't the only one surprised.  Had to go back to sw mode because fights would slow down to 50 percent speed, in SW mode it's back up to 100 percent.

Yeah, what other games are similar enough on processing reqs to run like ffx-2 is the question.  I'll screen cap it later, during the intro like the benchmark.  I'll have cpuz up and capped after that and my STP test up too.. Just becuase it's pretty unbelievable that it's working right.

and of course, when I run the test today for the screen cap, it kicks out a higher number1383 and 1381 on consecutive runs[Image: stp_zps1n1hhch4.png]

did about an hours play today..
to keep full speed, I need to do some switching between HW and SW mode. In battle, I need to be in SW mode, most of the rest of the time I really should be in HW mode. Videos dont seem to have a preference.

Is there a way to write a pnach to do that?

I didn't mean you had to prove it lol, I just meant that I found it very surprising that you could run it well enough like that.

Anyway, I don't know of any way to make a patch like that.

Blyss, I figured it was such an outragous claim that "pics or it didn't happen" applied lol.
