pcsx2-r5350.exe has stopped working
#1
I've only recently installed PCSX2 but I can't seem to get it running and I'm wondering if anyone can help? I simply get an app crash "pcsx2-r5350.exe has stopped working" when trying to boot in either full or fast mode.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 with Direct X 11 so I believe my software at least should be compatible.

I can't seem to find any logs anywhere, so here's a quick image of the console output before it crashes.

Can anyone suggest what might be the problem / how I might fix it? I've not used PCSX2 before so if you could post any links/instructions on how to try said suggestions (unless they're simple) that would be appreciated.

I should also add (which may or may not be another problem), that I've tried changing the sound to None in SPU2 as I noticed that's where it stops, then I get a little further but the same error...

Thanks

@iamwright...

Are you using , gpu hacks or anything ?

If so, revert it back to stock settings !

Have had just the same issue with pcsx2 1.0 R5350 binary.. !!
Since i stop using those gpu hacks (needed for valkiery profile 2!!) everything turned out fine again..

well...except for the game BO2....TLB missing bug or something !

Only happend once so far..., and after hours of gameplay though !!

ohg well...

Assuming you mean the installation folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\PCSX2 1.0.0" then I don't have a logs folder. I've only got bios (I created that myself), Cheats, Docs, Langs and Plugins.

Do I need to enable/configure the logging somewhere? For your benefit and the other poster I've not changed anything and am using all the default settings...

EDIT

Sorry, my bad. I've spotted some extra settings and discovered they're saved elsewhere...

Can you run at least the bios?
CDVD=>No Disk
System=>Boot CDVD fast or full
#7
At this point I'd suggest the devs to remove the install program and make a check to grant nobody can place PCSX2 at C:\Program files and it's (x86) counterpart or My Documents.

Not than I believe is the cause of the issue in this specific case, but is always source of problems installing games at those locations.

I tried that and it didn't work, I noticed the message from before:

"File is not a valid dynamic library.
Some kinda plugin failure: C:\Program Files (x86)\PCSX2 1.0.0\Plugins\gsdx32-avx-r5350.dll"

So I tried the Null graphics driver, this seemed to work. I tried each of the gsdx versions, and found they all failed in the same way. A little more trial an error and I discovered DirectX 10 was being used, switching to 9 stops the failure! Woo... Step 1 complete.

Now I seem to run, but all I get is a blank screen... even just trying to boot the bios.

your CPu doesn't support AVX. That's why.
go ahead with gsnull plugin if you want, but you won't be able to see anything (that's what null" means...)
use gsdx ssse3 or maybe sse4

Yeah, I understood that gsnull was some sort of debug driver, I get a blank screen regardless of which version of gsdx I try though, currently I've got 4.1 selected but it's just black pixels all around Sad
