pcsx2 running slowly

right well the emulator runs very slowley on my computer trying to run any games that are not 2d
I've got a :

AMD Phanton quad core 2.30Ghz
2 GB of Ram
and a 3800HD

Is it my computer or is there anything I can do to improve performence
(running 1888)?

using latest beta may help you, but your CPu's a bit weak for pcsx2 (2.30ghz isn't enough)

If you're already using beta 1888 you could try out the December 30 plugin pack, using the latest GSdx from there and checking 'native' since your graphics card is weak

uh Quad-Core @2.30 GHz is good enough to emulate certain games. But sure u need to check your configuration for plugins.

I have downloaded the latest plugins my question now is what settings should I use?

there are a lot of plugins and I dont know wich to chose
