problem with pcsx 2 : final fantasy 12

I installed pcsx2, it works, with final fantasy 12 I managed to program an external controller, I manage to move the character with the up, down, left and right keys, but in the menu these keys do not work, are there a special configuration to do ?? there is so much configuration to do that I do not understand everything

iirc, the ffxii menus work with the d-pad

no. i meant you'll have to use the d-pad to navigate through menus.
means you'll have to configure it too

that works the exact same way that it does with your real PS2. go boot FFXII on your real console, and you'll understand what i mean
