problems with pcx2 using keyboard

I spent 5 hours of my day getting my PCSX2 to work and it finally got to the PS2 start-up screen

its going fine but none of the keyboard controls work

Im Very new to pcx2 , took help of youtube , watched many vidoes

I cant set my desired keys
when i press any key nting comes
"When we enable mouse" and press any key
it comes only keys related to mouse Sad pls help me

we have to load keyboard keys manually frm net downloading a cfg file ?

just use LilyPad,
Open the General tab and activate Windows messaging for the Keyboard API, Disable the Mouse API.
Game Device API: DirectInput, XInput.

Open the PAD1 tab and configure your desired keys.
click on one of the Buttons and then a keyboard key to assign it.
You first may have to clear all the keys after assigning new ones to not get confused with your previous assigned keys.

That's all.

But it's still highly recommended to use a Gamepad to have the best gaming experience! Wink

ok i will buy gamepad , but again we have to configure settings for gamepad ? or when i insert gamepad to cpu it will autoselect ?

If you buy an xinput/xbox 360 compatible pad you can use xpad.
It doesn't need any configuration.

Any gamepad that works in windows will work on PCSX2. No matter what controller it is, you will have to manually configure it in PCSX2. You'll only have to do that one time though.
