Use "run > execute", if you're using an ISO with the "file > run ISO image" way just change your cdvd plugin to Linuz ISO and do "run > execute" instead, also if you have GSdx with interlacing enable disable it.

Try changing BIOS!My Tekken 5 won't work on all BIOS-es

r1888 and r1736 = native resolution and BIOS change did'nt boot!

But 0.9.6 can bypass introductions and achieve fullspeed

For everyone experiencing a black screen in Tekken 5. Try it out with unchecking the "Min/Max Hack (Micro VU only)" in the Speed Hacks options.
I am refering to the official beta version 1888.
