save states not working on ffxii

I just can't load save states in ffxii, screen going black and music playing. buttons not responding.
using r1888.
tried to disable speedhacks
tried to put on native
tried switching to software mode (gave me a static image)
but no avail

sstates may work or not between version changes, if you don't have a near normal save my advice is reloading the version you used to make the sstate, go to a savepoint and save it in the memory card.

Now you upgrade to the new beta and load from the memcard. Hope it works for you.

In r1888, no sstate worked.
but in 0.9.7 it works like a charm.

now, if it was only possible to solve the pixelated text. but I don't think there's anything to do about it
