On the compatibility list is considered playable, but it's a crashfest and not even distantly playable in any way... even tried changing plugins etc etc, but no good...
is the NTSC playable for real? i can't believe a game only because being pal not working when the ntsc version works....

Try enabling the "EE timing hack" gamefix. Both are playable in the beta.

Ok but take in count PCSX2 0.9.6 is over a year older and well apparently it's not working great for you anyway.
