should we ever expect pcsx2 on android?

Should we expect the team here to ever attempt such a huge project, now that the p.c version is so polished?

If it does ever happen it will probably be while from now due to hardware limitations.

And since PCSX2 is x86 code, and Android is ARM based... it would require a complete rewrite.

Consider my archos gamepad 2, a quad core 1.6 GHz processor and a quad core Mali 400 GPU. How is this considered not powerful enough when my athlon 64 4000+ and geforce 7800 gt allow me to play sims bust in out? How is my quad core tablet considered weaker than my 8 year old desktop p.c?

Again, completely different architectures.

I understand this. But is there anything stopping the development of a ps2 emulator on android? I can run a PSP emulator and there is a GameCube/Wii emulator currently in alpha mode, but still running games slowly. Isn't this proof enough that its possible on current hardware?

No, the psp is not nearly as complex as the ps2 and either is the wii/gamecube

Even if it's possible, the devs don't seem interested in it. PCSX2 development is really slow lately anyway. The devs have other things to do besides code all the time. So, they would rather spend their time making what we do have better, instead of trying to port it.

This is what I think anyway.

That and the fact that even high end pc's have issues with ps2 emulation depending on the game. BTW, why would you want to play a ps2 game with a touch screen.

Well, you can use bluetooth controllers with phones and such. I used my dualshock 3 with my N860 smartphone running ePSXe and other emulators, for example.
