Well, there's nothing much that can be said.
The FX 5500 is one of the lowest end PCI-E cards available.
AMD Phenom II 940 @ 3.6GHZ, 4GB PC8500 @ 1100MHZ, 4870x2 @ Stock.

Again with PCI-E...the card most likely is AGP which one of the lowest end AGP cards that are supported by pcsx2

The FX5500 came out in both AGP and PCI-E variants. Unless he knows and/or wants to find out, it's a moot point.

In the end it doesn't matter which he has because it's not going to get playable FPS in a whole lot of games. Apparently whichever one he tried is not one of the few.

The FX5500, like the 3850 both came out agp/pci-e.. there spec's are the same.

Try editing gsdx ini which is located in the ini`s folder. Change the res to 384x384. Then launch pcsx2. dont open the gsdx within pcsx2 or you will reset config ini to default
