soft reset?

Is there anyway to do a soft reset on PCSX2? I tried it by holding the shoulder buttons. But alas.. There was nothing.

If not it's no big deal. I was just simply trying to exploit the lottery in Suikoden 3 Tongue

You're most likely thinking of the soft reset built into Square games (Select+Start+L1+L2+R1+R2). Unless you're playing a game which has a soft reset combination hardcoded in, there is no soft reset; no such ability is coded into PCSX2.

I am thinking the soft reset like in square games. in this game it's

L1+L2+R1+R2+Start+Select

But when i hold them in.. it just opens up the menu

Yeah, as I said, that ability is exclusively for Square games (unless someone else did it on the PS2 with some other game I don't know about).

So you're out of luck.

No, it's in this game.. I've done it on a real PS2, same game.

However.. if you use the fastboot, you get the same effect as a softreset.
