hi im new here i tryed to open the exe and got this message

pcsx2 the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)

i uninstalled visual c++ then re installed it no dll errors only that message does anyone know how to fix that ?



edit i just tryed the compatable option still doesnt work i tryed all compatable options in the list

What are the specs of your system?

Also try a repair install of VCREDIST 2015 x86 and VCREDIST 2013 x86.

i had pcsx2 years ago but removed it due to not much space now that i have deleted a lot of old games i no longer play i went and downloaded the new version and got that error message

i tryed the c++ uninstalling and repairs before making the topic but no luck

i just downloaded 0.9.8 version and that works i guess the 1.4.0 isnt compatable for some reason Sad

0.9.8 is ancient as hell and you'll have a lot of problems with many games.

i know i just dont know why 1.4.0 gives that error i dont know anything about computer needs

download and install the VC++ redist located here
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS

It sounds like your OS is ***** up TBH. Have you ever manually copied any DLLs into Windows folders btw?

Edit: Wait, did you run that installer as admin? You need to.

i got hit by windows 32 virus years ago managed to get on briefly didnt know it was a virus i thought dlls was corrupt it use to be windows xp at 1 point i copyed and pasted system32 from xp to 7 now i cant uninstall programs from before the virus >.< it wasnt until i got avast that i found out it was a virus that caused the problems but since i copyed system 32 from xp to 7 im locked out of most stuff even thought its my machine
