twisted metal: black audio issue

playing twisted metal black on pcsx2. Audio is fine during menu and opening cutscene but the second i start to play the first match the audio goes to *****. you can somewhat hear the actual audio, but there's an incessant distorted sound playing over it. tried messing with SPU-2 as much as possible but nothing has worked. anyone else had this issue? how do i fix this?

You should 1st try updating to the latest nightly release of PCSX2

download the latest nightly build, 1.6.0 is 3.5 years out of date and you may get some performance improvements when you do update
