unable to get direct disc game reading to work
#1
I'm not able to get this working and I'm not sure why. I've had this issue forever on this PC but I've had it working years ago

I'm just trying to stick a legit disc in and selecting the disc option, but that doesn't work. Ripping it to ISO works as expected. Tried with multiple games and with default PCSX2 settings, across mutliple builds.

here's the log

Is there a specific reason you want to use the disc if an ISO works? Usually running from an ISO is better as discs give you stutter when it needs to spin up again. A PC drive doesn't read constantly like a PS2.

Your issue may be the same one I reported on the Github. https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/issues/3910
Basically, you need to already have a Disc inserted while opening PCSX2 if you want the Disc Option to work, inserting a Disc while PCSX2 is open doesn't work anymore. Alternatively, it's still working like intended on 1.6 Stable, since it broke kinda recently.
