50 fps is normal is the English version pal
not NTSC

I understand anything with the English version pal latest plugin works with a perfect 50 fps PAL French version it is 22 fps lag
0.1.7 brings with GDSX constant 50 fps 1680x1050 4x AA enabled in the ati driver

about your problem, try with software mode (F9)
