what graphics card to get? noob post
#1
I got pcsx2 and its running need for speed U2 at like 5 frames a second, my specs are 3.2 GHz, 6GB RAM, Intel HD graphics 2000 on windows 8. I think my specs are good enough bar the graphics card and was wondering what the best, reasonably cheap graphics card is?

also not sure if it is only the graphics card causing it to run so slowly, any suggestions would be much appreciated

Depends on which specific processor that is at 3.2Ghz, it could be plenty or not not near enough. I think it might be an i3 3210 which is okay enough for some games, but the NFS games are demanding both on the CPU and GPU.

Anyway, just about any modern dedicated graphics card will do, it depends on how high you wanna upscale.

Well your clock speed confused me since you posted the turbo and not the base.

Anyway, it should be fine, just get something you can afford that scores around 1000 or higher on here: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php as that will let you upscale pretty well on most games, and at least play the demanding ones.

Also to get more speed currently, you might try in config -> video ->plugin settings, set extra threads to 2 or 3 and then run the game in software mode by pressing F9 when it's running.

Get something like GTX 750 Ti or R7 260X.

Of those two I'd go with the 750 TI in that price range.
