xenosaga 1 puppet threads and fix
#1
Downloaded latest SVN 5859, got my save-state from last SVN 5837 and started up. First thing I noticed was black puppeteer lines coming up from the ground only on the player character, not NPC's. Not terrible but definitely noticeable and had not occurred from previous SVN. After screwing around settings, the Half-pixel offset in Enable HW hacks fixes it. FYI in case someone else has issue.
BTW, Xenosaga looks beautiful with all the shaders and 4X! I think my PS2 Fat is jealous.

Well savestates are normally not portable to other versions or? So maybe somebody changed something in the emulator that affected the SaveState memory management and you are loading bugs into your game...

What happens if you start a new game?

Sorry logged off to finish as I was at Proto Merkabah, started a new game with the hack unchecked and the lines were back again.

Also Skipdraw=3 will get rid of them. These are a known issue.

IDK, I played through the entire game and that was the only issue which again skipdraw fixes(but removes all shadows).

The issue has been around at least since 2011:

Ok, but I never had an issue before and didn't need to use skip-draw or any hw hacks until now. Thought it was new, my bad.

Were you perhaps running in native resolution before or something? (just a guess, for all I know they might happen in native too)

no, I burned xenosaga when i got my new rig, old one was too weak. With new system, I have always put it at 3X or better can do xeno at 4X but slows down after that

Pretty much any rig will slowdown at > 3x on Xenosaga.

That's why it's on my list:
