I'm actually surprised on how you did 35fps on that.

Even with frameskippping, don't expect to get any higher than 40fps.

Well, can't he just skip every other frame? I know it doesn't work perfectly, and it would probably be really choppy, but at least the game wouldn't be in slow mo.

In theory, yes.

In actuality, if the game you are trying to frameskip is something fast-paced, it just wouldn't work well.
