I noticed that with each new update the menu's are faster but the cut-scenes stay the same speed and I think with the latest release it gets even slower.
Speed is never ever going to be a guarantee with this emulator from version to version.
There may be speed ups (as speed hacks and more efficient ways to emulate are made) and slow downs (as speed hacks are replaced with proper emulation or new more accurate ways to do things come about).
