Ok, starting the the big issue, Star Ocean 3:

It won't load at all. It crashes PCSX2 with "PCSX20.9.6.exe has stopped working."

I've updated to the latest GSDX driver, runs fine, as a test, I run Kingdom Hearts, works like a charm with that game. SO3 just won't work.

I've tried HW and SW modes, I've ripped my disc to ISO, no luck and I don't know what to do Sad

Also, Growlanser Generations (both GL2 and 3) is giving me issues as well, just loads a black screen but never loads the game.

I'm stuck bad here, and really want to play my games, since I kept the games, but no longer own a PS2. Any help would be appreciated!
There's a Gamefixes menu option. Select it.

In the dialog you'll find a Gamefix for Triace games. Enable it.

Enjoy your SO3. Smile
Sweet, that worked!

Sadly, it runs at 37fps, but they seem to be talking in slow motion, it's off somehow.

Any ideas or is it a case of my laptop being too slow?

Specs:

Intel Core2Duo 2.16ghz
4 gigs ram
Nvidia m8600GT

not sure if I'm up to speed spec-wise. I got MGS:sub running, but only at 23fps....it's probably me.

Also, any idea what the fix is for Growlanser? I'm having no luck. It doesn't crash, just getting a black screen and pressing any of the buttons doesn't skip to the menu.
Actually, nevermind, I ripped my disc to ISO and it worked fine, seems like if all else fails, rip the disc. Thanks for the help!
You might want to try the latest beta or getting an updated GSdx for speed on Star Ocean 3

Dont forget to get the redistributable.

I have the latest GSDX, but I'll try the new beta tonight, I hear it works with Arc the Lad: ToTS, which is a game I'd definitely like to play. We'll see what happens. Smile
You might want to turn on microVU with the latest beta for Arc the Lad so it gets ride of SPS, the fog will be kinda glitchy unless you use DX10 or software mode tho.

What is the SPS? Also, will software mode negatively impact performance? DX10 is probably a no-go, I'm running an m8600GT.
8600gt can run DX10 :o but yeah in software the performance will be less, DX10 will emulate the fog good enough but not perfect, DX9 will look pretty bad tho like this:

Software - http://forums.pcsx2.net/attachment.php?aid=20987
DX10 - http://forums.pcsx2.net/attachment.php?aid=20986
DX9 - http://forums.pcsx2.net/attachment.php?aid=20985

SPS is "Spikey Polygon Syndrome" and refers to polygons that get out of place and all over the screen sometimes.

Ok. I must admit, that DX10 shot looks perfect. I'll try it out. I'm hoping this one runs well, with metal gear running slow (probably my CPU is the culprit, too slow) it's hit and miss what games I can play well, but so far I've been lucky with GL2 and 3 now, and if this pans out I'll be a happy camper.

I hate to keep bugging about new stuff, but I don't see any point to making a new thread:

Are there any fixes/quirks I should be aware of for SSX Tricky or Guilty Gear X2 on 0.9.6 or the beta?
