its either the ATI drivers are pre-mature right now for 58xx now, or your card has problems. But yeah, software mode for i7's work out pretty well, I think you can do a max of 7 threads with hyperthreading on.
Just curious, but why are you using any interlacing in your GSDx settings? Not sure how much difference that would make, but set it to "None" or off, whatever it is.
Okay, so hardware seems to work fine now. I get an average of 60fps in SotC with speed hacks and moderate VU cycling stealing.
With all speed hacks off and no VU cycling stealing, I get about 40-50 fps. Either way it runs pretty smoothly.
I guess it really was just a motherboard BIOS problem. Thanks for the help everyone.
its great that you got it to work.. enjoy SOTC.
always remember to drivers up to date
True, but motherboard BIOS are always trickier/riskier, which is why people don't usually think of trying to update that. Still, good info for anyone else with a similar situation.
Usually when installing the newest generation of hardware, particularly CPUs, it's a good idea to update the BIOS since newer BIOSes will have compatibility updates. However, it is rare that a graphics card requires a BIOS update though...
Yeah, which is why I didn't think about it at first. Oh well, the graphical benchmarks now seem to match the right specifications.
made sure everything driver wise was is up to date on your comp??
