Okay so I'm planning on building my own computer soon and would be interested in knowing what CPU's and GPU's are most compatible or work best with the PSX2 emulator?

also by current graphics card is a Radion HD 4770 512mb which I was hoping to not have to upgrade, would this work fine with the emulator? or is another graphics card recommended?

HD4770 is fine for pcsx2. For cpu, depending on your budget, generally, the higher the clock a cpu has the better, and most of the newer intel cpu's are recommended(i3,i5 and i7). To get good performance namely full speed without speedhacks, you may want to consider overclocking your new cpu whick will require some reasonable HSF.
