I am curious as to recommended specs (if there are any) for these games.

I have an AMD phenom 2 x4 965BE @ 3.7ghz and two 9800GT's in SLI (i know only one works)

And for the most part i get full 60fps in Dark Cloud 1 other then in cities. thats between 60 and 40.

dark cloud 2 however is around 40 - 45 fps.

Any idea why this is? I figured i could play most games with my rig. Or are Dark Cloud 1/2 in the "needs insane specs" category.

settings are defaults. no speed hacks enabled (enabling some helps a small bit in dc1 but not 2) and naitive resolution (else it's slower then dirt...)

Try some others? As far as I know "VU cycle stealing" should help a bit.

Show us your settings so we can help better, also tell us what the EE/GS % numbers in the GS window say when it's slow.

Enabled the 4 "recommended" speed hacks and the slow down has mostly stopped. drops to 58 or 57fps from time to time. settings are the following

during the slowdown the EE is around 88%-100% GS ranging from 36% - 64%

upgraded to the lated beta (i thought 1888 was the latest haha) and without speed hacks the slowdowns have mostly ended.

that is Dark Cloud 2. haven't tested 1 yet
