I want to buy a new CPU for pcsx2. This is my current system.

Also I have to say that my current Motherboard let me not allow to OC my CPU.
I really love to play my old ps2 Games with pcsx2. I'm a huge fan of rpgs. I finished Shadow Hearts 2 and SMT: Nocturne with this emulator. Got full speed in 1920x1080 resolution. But there are many games (Shadow of he Colossus, Tales of the Abyss etc.) that won't work that good because of my CPU.
Can anyone recommend me a good CPU for pcsx2 ? (Budget is 300$)

Theres not a whole lot of options avalible to you. You could get a new quad core but for $300 you wouldnt get a much faster one, I would say for pcsx2 in mind getting a E8400-8600(dual-core) would give you the best performance. However you could also upgrade your motherboard to a 1156 socket get new ddr3 ram and get say an i5-760 and an aftermarket cooler for about $350-400, then overclock and get a really good system overall.
I'd suggest overclocking that CPU for now instead of changing the system and just getting a better cooler, no idea how good overclocker is the Q8200 tho but 3GHz should be achievable.
He did say his motherboard did not allow him to overclock though. But that seems wierd unless is like dell/hp etc. If overclocking actually is an option it would definitely his best one. All he would potentially need is a cooler.
The easiest thing to do is to buy another mainboard

Right that would be an easy way around it and much cheaper than a new cpu.

With his $300 budget, going for the MB+CPU+RAM trifecta should be doable. With the low clock rate on the Q8200, the i3-530 catches up to it in performance in heavily multi-threaded tasks owing to its higher clock and HyperThreading and does considerably better in less threaded tasks (PCSX2 included). It's also a beast of an overclocker.
If you can spare an extra $100, though, i'd say wait for Sandy Bridge. It's just a month until release now.

I think I'm gonna buy a Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 CPU. Is it possible to use it with my Motherboard ? (I'm using the Q8200, so I think it should be fine, am I right ?)
