ok im sure this has crossed many minds
i had no idea on exactly what to put in for search

so im sorry that i didnt find another post on it

mostly this is for coders and developers
of both windows and linux
it isbest if they have both on same system

ok first.. which would run best windows or linux..

if windows which version works best? i run win7 64x

if linux which version would work best?
and which is best gui? kde.. or another?

if you do make a post on ur answer
post fps from same game, and which version of pcsx2
aswell as the OS running its running on
now also im not sure.. but maybe if O/C in windows it would be diff in linux?

PCSX2 itself runs the same speed on Linux as it runs on Windows.
It's the GS plugin that makes the difference.
On Linux you can't use GSdx, which is the furthest developed and fastest running GS plugin.

Depending on your game this won't be a problem though.
I think you can nicely play FFX on Linux, for example.
so why not basicly have another instal.. say something like an OS install that will run only needed essentials for pcsx2 and nothing else?
That would not help speed.
like ps3 supposidly runs off a linux core?
and i heard ps2 data can be read off linux OS
unless have programs with windows to read the data?
well ya say it runs off core speed? or w/e
but doesnt having alot of programs also add to the usage to slow it down?
well i prolly should add why im asking.
i have several pc parts and OS's windows and linux cores
instead of having yet another peice of equipment in my room
ill just put togather a working pc that is souly for pcsx & pscx2 (atm, untill i add in more emu's)
I know where you're coming from as I've heard these questions numerous times over the years.
You can not increase PCSX2 speed by slimming down Windows, by using Linux, by trying to create a new "Emu OS".

What actually helps is fast hardware though.
3Ghz Intel CPU (from 2008 and up) and a decent VGA card will do what you want.
well i think next best cpu is amd athlon 64, 2.0 - 2.8 ghz.. cant remember
