Hi there.
Probably this have already been asked before but :


I want to know if it's even possible to play games like Tekken 5,Gran Turismo 4 etc at full speed.I mean, i've tried searching the forum for the best possible configuration on PcSX2 0.9.7 (r3878) and everything i have tried has resulted to not even near any kind of acceptable speed.

My PC specs are:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
4GB DDR2 RAM (800 mHz)
Ati Radeon HD 4890 Saphire 2GB GDDR5
ASUS Maximus II Gene
and i am running on Windows 7 64bit.
I think my PC is at least decent enough for emulation.


Emulation Settings:
EE :Recompiler
IOP : Recompiler
Round Mode: Chop/Zero
Clamping Mode: Normal
Flush to Zero CHECKED
Denormal are zero CHECKED
VU0: superVU (tried also microVU)
VU1: superVU (tried also microVU)
Round and Clamping as on EE/IOP

GS Plugin settings : You name it ,i've tried it.

SPU2-X Settings:
Default

I have tried Speedhacks, EE Cyderate & VU Cycle Stealing set on 2 but nothing seems to work.

Sorry for the long post and if i've made any profound mistake in my configuration please point it out.

I suppose anything that will result to a perfomance above 80-85% would suffice.

what is your cpu clockspeed ?

If he hasnt overclocked its 2.8ghz, which is too low to get fullspeed on these demanding games. I dont have the games myself so I can only tell you what Ive read about these games, and I think you need atleast 3.5ghz or more to get fullspeed most of the time.

Indeed it's at 2.83GHz.
So overclocking is necessary huh?

since you're trying to run some of the most demanding games, i'm affraid it'll be....

Say i do overclock, then will these games be playable decently?
Cause what i'm saying is that if it is too much trouble to get to the point where you can play those games and they ain't decent enough i guess it's better to borrow the damn thing from a friend of mine

I want so bad to play a good racing game and then i remembered that i haven't played Gran Turismo 4

Anyway i'll give it a try since i wanted either way to overclock at some point.
