Does fullscreen mode speed up the emulator? I've been wondering that for some time, and figured now is as good a time to ask as any.

i think the best thing is do it your self", but one thing for sure, game resolution will surely become blurry and by understanding your query, the emulator will not speed up. maybe your referring to a game not the emulator!

no, speed will NOT be effected by fullscreen

Nah, it's ok.
Unless something changed, PCSX2 uses a fake fullscreen mode which remove the frame and hides the taskbar, so it is indeed a big windowed mode. That is one method which brings some advantages over real fullscreen in some ALT+TAB sensible games, even in native PC games.
