will compressing iso's affect the performance of running pcsx2?
Not really.
so in a way compressing the ISO's would be beneficial since it would save space on your hard drive and wont affect your game speed?
i don't see much improvement using compressed iso's over ntfs compression.
you mean .isz format i tested it and PCSX2 doesn't support it
so how would i go about compressing my ISO's to save some HDD space in a way pcsx2 will support properly (and still using CDVD -> ISO)?

also, is there any way to clear the ISO selector list? i have some old ISO's in my list that are no longer on my HDD, that are just taking up space in the list.
Right click on a file->properties->advanced->compression there;P

For the list, edit PCSX2_ui.ini and at the bottom of this file you have list of recent iso.
thanks
so this means that it's alright to compress the iso's?
Yes, there is a chance to cause slowdown, but it shouldn't break anything by using NTFS compression.
