For starters upgrade to PCSX2 0.9.8, and try again

I can get it to run, but during the intro scene when the hero's mouse is running through forest to get to the wagon it glitches and completely breaks. It goes all wire frames and the FPS hits 1 or 2.
Any ideas?
System specs and settings?
