Read the Configuration Guide. Also, what games are you trying to play.
Game settings may differ, a bit. Some games may crash on some settings.

For speed:

Speedhacks, frameskip, changing the round and clamp modes generally help.


By the Way your CPU, and GPU is ample for PCSX2 and you sould be able to play many non-demanding games very easily.
im trying to play gran turismo 4.
You're gonna need a higher clockrate for that to go well.
