However, I don't think it's playable without a mic, and it's unsupported on PCSX2 because of it, so it's kind of pointless.
I played this game about few month ago... Using PS2 console. Ordered microphone for PS2 specially for this game. Graphic and storytelling 9/10, but gameplay 6/10 at its best. This game is hard to complete without guide for people who doesn't speak English at native level.
Are you going to update achieve with .elf hacks? Don't forget about Time Crisis series, too.
Aye. Regarding Lifeline, even natives have trouble because of the voice software. Tell her to check the mirror, and she will check the freaking sofa. It's hilarious and frustrating.
If there's demand, I could create a separate .elf archive (don't want to mix them with our .pnachs). However, I'd need the modified .elfs themselves. I'm not as familiar with elf hacks, just so you know, but I'm still willing to make it. Also, it will only be games that are unhackable through .pnach, since over at the *other* forum, they're finding a way to use .pnachs on real PS2s/PS3s, or something like that.

.elf hacks will work for pc2sx, too. You don't need actual .elf, but just a hex code, so it can be just one .txt file. Look how nemesis2000 is posting his elf. hacks at
http://ps2wide.net They are all good and high quality, but .elf hacks that were made by other developers has not been posted there yet.
Recently I have checked all post in this thread and copied all .elf codes which are not posted at Nemesis' website. That was quite a job, I have to say, but you don't need to do it all over again.

It would be nice if you organize them somehow, keeping in mind, that most of sergx12 .elf hacks have not been tested yet. The knowledge has not to be lost, but preserved
P.S.
I took me about 20 hours to complete the Lifeline according to save data, but in reality I spend twice more. It took me a few months to complete the game. The most frustrating moments were the "things guessing" and fighting. She has never wanted to go to the "elevator", and sometimes consumed a recovery drinks instead of doing what she has been told
I had to reload last saves many times because of that. What were your issues with Rio as being a native English speaker?
ELF hacks are great, they generally work across every version of a game and are very easy to convert to pnach
And hey Lifeline is one of those games that's so bad it's good... If you have an accent it'll probably give you a hard time, although I managed to beat JP version in about 10 hours despite not being a native speaker. Actually there times the US version was more frustrating lol
JP version
May the force be with you.
I took my time and asked all possible things
Even asked her to do a pillow fight with Alan, lying on the floor. The game has kept me surprised a lot of times. Game is good, but technology is only amazing when it is works 100%, otherwise its mistakes sooner or later make you frustrated. I would play this game again only if the game depended less on speech recognition, allowed to move character via controller during exploring and fights and there were no "item guessing". Then the game could be experienced in normal 5-7 hours full of fun. But I believe this is off-topic. Let's go back to waiting new widescreen patches
Devina40, as soon as requests are open again, do you mind adding FFX International render fix to the list? I am dying to play FFX and refuse to until the render fix is out. I'm stubborn
Thanks.
Actually, haven't played Lifeline, but would like to. I've seen Rio derp around, even when people are clear and have perfect accents. If anything, I think it would have been a better Other M, since Lifeline gives me a Samus vibe.
How big are .elf files usually? Like 8mb? I was thinking of having them pre-hacked for easy convenience (noob-friendly and drag-drop), but wonder if it would become too big. If so, someone could help me and make a Readme on how to edit .elf files, with big emphasis on the noob-friendly part.
And yeah, I'll remember to list the FFX render fix.

This is ridiculous.
The coders can (probably) easily add elf-hack support to PCSX2.
Besides, it's probably unlegal!

Thought so. Wouldn't be feasible then.
If someone could write that readme, it'd be dandy.

I helped someone few days ago at this thread:

i think tekken tag was included here...
http://ps2wide.net/t.html
so how will i apply it to the emulator??
Quote:1. Open the game image with HxD hex editor
2. Press Ctrl+R. Search for initial value (choose hex-values datatype):
00000000 00000000 43AD1346 00000000
3. Replace with widescreen value:
403F013C 00008144 43AD1346 02C60046
4. Save edited image.
That is it. You can run game and enjoy it in widescreen. For me, .elf hacks are much better than .pnach'es, as they are more universal and work on PS2 and PS3 with BC as well.
That is how I got here my first and only +1 to reputation
